We have completed four PIs since embarking on Scaled Agile transformation and looking for an experienced certified Scrum Master/Agile Program Manager who is passionate about Agile processes and helping teams achieve high levels of performance. Your role is to mentor others and serve as a change agent for the company as they mature through this transformation.

We are looking for a candidate with experience and excitement to continuously improve the way we develop and deliver worldwide. The ideal candidate loves team building and going the extra mile to help teams deliver projects that exceed expectations. As part of the engineering group, you will take responsibility for protecting agile processes, facilitating product and engineering teams, communicating with the wider business and bringing about continued improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Track identified Risks and prepare and manage risk response strategies for these risks with team/tech lead/architects, also communicates Risk details and mitigation plans with all stakeholders and leadership
  • Tracks and monitor delivery of commitments for release from assigned teams
  • Form a new Scrum team and guide this team through the stages of group development.
  • Act as Scaled Scrum Master for 2-3 scrum teams with a focus on guiding the teams towards improving the way they work.
  • Facilitate Sprint ceremonies
  • Ensure cross-team coordination (locally and globally)
  • Reach out to the larger company network for impediment removal
  • Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing and the organization coordinate release efforts.
  • Work with product owners to develop and prioritize the backlog
  • Remove any impediments that would prevent the team from achieving its sprint goals and help achieve shippable product
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame (emphasis on problem solving).
  • Facilitate getting the work done with team camaraderie rather than coercion, assigning, or dictating.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Providing support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible; leading by example
  • Drive new initiatives, process improvements toward consistent delivery of working product.
  • Ensure tactical plans are communicated to main stakeholders including relevant cross-functional teams.
  • Use innovative techniques to team retrospectives with focus on team building, ownership and accountability
  • Coordinate interdependencies between the teams, vendors or customers.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience as Agile Scrum Master
  • Preferred Certifications - CSM, PSM, SAFe or PMI-ACP or equivalent 
  • Technical/Java Developer background is preferred. 
  • Hands-on knowledge of Jira/Jira Reporting or any agile management tools
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, a plus
  • Knowledge on SVN, Git, Jenkins, Unix Scripting, Python, MySQL, a plus
  • Experience with Agile techniques such as: ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Experience in a medium to large organization that coordinates releases with geographically located Scrum Teams .
  • Understand fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
  • Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics
  • Understand backlog tracking, burndown and burnup metrics, velocity, and task definition and experience with tools to draw metrics from data
  • Experience and knowledge on how to lead a team to self-organization
  • Must desire to bring disclosure and transparency to the business about development; growing business trust.
